I was losing weight until I quit smoking (back in 2007). I put it all and an extra 24 pounds on. I need to re-lose those, plus the 10 I hadn't lost yet to get to my goal.

I gave up all soda in 2013 and am working on going Whole Food Plant Based.

2020 Update: Backslid up to the mid 150s. Time to get back on the horse and eat on plan. Need to start tracking again to be accountable.

Update 2019: Down to the low-mid 140s, bouncing a bit. Still doing the 5% Challenges since the first one worked so well. I just need to get back on track and actually DO what I say I'm going to do.

Update 2018: Joined my first 5% Challenge to see if I can get these last 10 pounds off,

Update 2017: Have succeeded in going WFPB with very few slips. Down to the low 150s, but need to lose a bit more as I am only 5' 4.5" tall.

My Goals:
I want go get down to 130 pounds.
I want to learn how to meal plan - I get by so far by not keeping stuff I shouldn't eat in the house, but I don't always eat the best proportions of grains and beans to veggies and fruits - and nuts can be dangerous.


My Program:
Have been eating Whole Food Plant Based 99% of the time. I have been reading about Intermittent Fasting and tried the eRTF (early Time Restricted Feeding) version where I ingest all my calories between 5:30 AM and noon. That stopped being workable when work got too busy to eat all 3 meals at work, so I am going to try doing the other end - no eating before noon and done by 6 pm.



Personal Information:
I am a voracious reader who enjoys Ren Faires and science fiction / fantasy conventions. I have 2 long-haired cats and one son who is ASD.

    Hi Kerry, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by BLE, at first I thought you mean Bright Line Eating but you seem to refer to Beck Diet Solution.
    I'm sorry you did not find the skill of planning the meals the night before helpful.

    I agree with you - but with DH not eating, I followed the suggestion of his DIL, who sent him the "Greens First" and "Garden of Life Perfect Food" as it is the only way to get any nutrition into him. He was already on Ensure Plus but she sent Orgain Nutritional Shakes and I am mixing the two as his Cocoa in the morning.

    DIL recommended and bought for my DH, and I am only using as a sort of supplement to my meals. At least she bought good brands and only USDA Organic. Yes, I know, it's just a stamp on the label.

    Since using what I laughingly call, "healthy crap," my hubby is actually starting to ask for solid foods again so I am praying I am doing something right. At 95, if they won't eat, they also won't last long. I want to keep him around as long as possible and as long as he isn't in chronic pain and doesn't give up, I will do whatever I must to keep him going.

    I do thank you for your comment! Using the dried greens isn't much worse than dried herbs; maybe even better!
