Welcome to my Spark page. I am 64 years old and a retired speciaI education teacher (non categorical preschool).
My husband and I have a 4 year old rescue beagle named Buster. He is a bundle of energy and makes us laugh. He has eerily similar traits that we saw in our last 2 rescue beagles. He's very sweet and lots of fun for us.
Our daughter, husband and her 3 children (my adorable grandchildren) live about 25 minutes from us. They also have an old rescue beagle. I am so fortunate to see them a lot. They are my sunshine!!
Our son is married to a great woman. They have his rescue beagle (see a pattern in our family?) and her two cats. They live about 25 minutes from us also (in the opposite direction!)
I joined Spark in December 2009 and, like everyone, life has thrown me some curves as well as blessed me in many ways! Although I struggle with consistency, my main struggle seems to always be with exercise. It seems I do fine for awhile and then I get off track. I always go back to the basics but it does get discouraging.
I'm trying to focus on being a healthy me with the energy to have fun with my family!

Thank you for the bloglove, sweetie. I'm so glad WW is working for you and sheesh! 10 lbs is a lot of progress.

I moved from the blue program - which I had been on since before it was called that - to the green - because I just didn't think I'd be true to it - I had begun to cheat too much. I have to think a bit more with the green program but not so much that I have to really struggle - or spend a lot of time fiddling with the tracker.

I'm pretty confident about this - I just needed to be motivated to stick with something. Looking forward to being comfortable in my cute clothes again.

Thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate you. When I came back to a Spark, you were the first to welcome me and remind me I’d figure this out again. You are truly a Spark Friend. Have a great weekend. PS are you keeping up w WW? Does it make you cook more?

    Thanks for the bloglove, honey.

Ya know, without a regular social life I am afraid if I'd tried to do anything major to get back to my happy weight - I'd just rebel. I can hear myself saying "what's the point if there's nobody to share this with" so for me - baby steps were essential.

    Big hugs to you

Just finished Paul Eugene workout with my niece. For a low impact video, you can work up a nice burn! We laughed most of the time at his check ins and wooo hoooos, lol! Just checking in and hoping you have a great weekend with family planned. emoticon

First off - way to go about losing those 9 lbs!! Congratulations

Second - I discovered exactly the same thing when I first joined WW. I did eat a well balanced diet - but my goodness I ate enough for 2!!! And when I scaled back the portions I found I wasn't hungry at all. Such a shock

Third - yeah - gaming the system. little white lies to myself. I've gotten so bad with the WW tracker that I knew I needed to focus differently. If the meetings start back up again I'll go to them - that weekly discipline was always comforting to me - but if they don't I may drop my WW membership and stick with the spark tracker. I'll just wait and see. Things shift. Things flow. I can too.

Big hugs an thank you for the bloglove
