My long-term goal remains to weigh zero pounds; to stand sideways and cast no shadow. I also plan and expect to grow in height, with a modest goal set at four inches, though six would be better. This is because everything helps that nasty BMI number - both the numerator and the denominator!
For 2020 my goal is simple: to lose 1% of my initial weight every two weeks. See my January 1, 2020 blog as to how, for you can join me and do it too.

My Goals:
My overall goal is to lose 45% of my starting weight of 281. This will take me down to 155, now that weighing zero seems a little unrealistic. And I have motivation: wedding pics in Fall 2021, which I cannot avoid. It's a Father of the Bride responsibility!
For 2020 the plan is once again simple: to lose 1.4 lbs per week or 0.2 lbs per day. That will bring me to somewhere slightly above 200 by the time I again ignore Christmas entirely.
My Program:
1. Treating the Sparky Nutrition Tracker as an unrelenting drill sergeant (i..e, the Soup Nazi).
2. No "seconds", no desserts, and no exceptions. I have become an herbivore, mainly. No veggies or fruits are safe in our house.
3. I track sodium and cholesterol as well. Male and (still) in my 50s for awhile longer. I harbor no illusion over the importance of this stuff too.
4. Gym once Coronavirus abates; brisk walks outdoors, as conditions allow, meanwhile. Typically 2 to 4 miles a day at roughly 3.3 mph. Swim laps in the summer, again once Coronavirus abates. Music (typically 1977-1987 but sometimes outside those bounds) is my workout buddy. I'd be miserable without.
5. Bought a new Garmin heart rate monitor that syncs to Sparky
6. Totally floating myself away on roughly 100 oz of water per day. Oh yes, peeing just all the damn time too.
6. Maintain humor throughout the process - absolutely essential!
7. Do this with my wife. And maybe w

I also am a business founder and former owner. I sold it in 2019 and swapped independence and self-determination for a retirement plan. No I did not see it coming. My wife and I can and will retire when we are 62 and 59 respectively.
It's safe to ask me about it. I'm ALWAYS in sell mode, but you do not need and cannot use what I sell.
