Introduction Text I am a 67-year old pastor of an interdenominational church that meets under a tree in Nashville, GA. I have recently made a re-commitment to SparkPeople in order to readdress my need for weight loss. A diagnosis of lower body lymphedema has caused me to once again realize the importance of physical exercise more than ever. Part of the treatment for lymphedema includes exercise that promotes lymphatic flow, fluid reduction, and a balanced and moderate lifestyle. These are all things that SparkPeople offered me from the beginning of my membership in 2016. I am thankful that I had the knowledge of this community to have a source for information at this important time in my life.

My first goal is to no longer be considered as "morbidly obese." A second goal will be to have the final weight goal of 199 lbs. I have lost from the initial weight of 336 to 324 after regaining 70 lbs previously lost with Spark People. I would also like to be an inspiration to others who have various disabilities who are committed to weight management and healthy living.

My program consists of treatment at Rehabilitation Services of Tifton, a lymphedema treatment center. I also am fortunate to have the assistance of a certified dietitian/nutritionist through the VA MOVE program in Valdosta, Georgia. I also am involved with Aqua and Physical Therapy for back and legs for continued physical motivation and lymphedema management.

I have been married to my beautiful wife, Sharon, for 21 years and have a son, a daughter, and eight grandchildren. I am a linguist, a global educator, a song writer-musician, and Bible teacher across multiple linguistic platforms.

My formal studies include an A.A. in Journalism, a B. I.S. in Anthropology, Languages, and Biblical Studies, a M.T.S. in Biblical Interpretation, and most of the requirements accomplished for a Ph.D. in Global Education.
