"Attitude" by Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than giftedness or skill.
It will make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is, we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it.

Hi and thanks for stopping by! My name is Jerilyn (rhymes w/Marilyn) and, as my page title implies, I'd love nothing more than to be healthy for my 4 angels (James 7 yrs, Jossilyn 4 yrs, Jacob 3 yrs and Jerald newborn)! I was diagnosed at age 5 w/hypothyroidism (family double whammy -- both my dad's mom and my mom's grandma suffered from hypothyroidism!) and have battled my weight my entire life. I had some pretty bad health issues w/this last pregnancy inc. pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes and pretty bad high blood pressure :( I am very happily married to the greatest guy in the universe. He is not only my partner in this journey we call life, but my best friend, mentor, love of my life, protector and guardian angel (he's my 5th angel).

At the end of last year I was down to 205 lbs and then found out Feb. 2009 that we were expecting #4. Well that seemed to be the green light (to me, anyway!) to say buh-bye to losing weight and exercising. I'm now 245 and don't know where to begin again :( I KNOW that I can't keep going the way I am w/excessive amounts of (bad for me!) food and severe lack of exercise. I need to get my butt up off from in front of this computer (and the tv!) and get it moving. Here's hoping that somewhere, deep inside of me, I can find the strength, the courage, determination and the will to lose weight once and for all. If not for myself, then for the love of my life and our 4 angels!

My Goals:
By the end of 2010...to be a minimum of 52 lbs. lighter. That's only a pound a week for a year; I think that's pretty reasonable/doable :)

By April 22, 2010...my 39th bday...what do I want? To be back down to a size 16. That gives me 5 mos and 3 days from today.

By Jan. 1, 2010...
To be on a regular exercise schedule

Last year at this time I had told my sister, who suffers from Scleroderma, that however much weight I lost in 2009 would be the $$ amt. I would donate to the Scleroderma Foundation. Well, somehow I got preggers this past year and so that went out the window. So I'm going to make the same offer for this next year. Starting now, however much weight I lose between now and the end of 2010 is how much I will donate to the Scleroderma Foundation.

My Program:
I'd love nothing more than to be able to give up sugary, caffeinated drinks and junk food. I am a chocoholic and food addict. And to those who say that food can't be addictive, I say bullpuckey! (Well, something else, actually, but bullpuckey is nicer lol). I go to see my Dr. in Dec. and will ask her at that time if there is some sort of diet and exercise regimen she can recommend for me.

Personal Information:
Born and raised in Fremont, CA, the oldest of 2 daughters. My mom began putting me on diets when I was just in the 3rd grade (yes, peeps, when I was only 8 yrs old! Nice, huh?!). Very happily married to my 2nd husband, we have 4 beautiful children (ages 7 yrs, 4 yrs, 3 yrs and newborn; 3 sons and 1 daughter). My desire to lose weight stems not only from wanting to set a good example for my children, but also so that I can live to see them grow to have families of their own!

Other Information:
I LOVE cook/bake and experiment in the kitchen, it's my absolute FAVORITE playroom in the house! Also enjoy reading cookbooks, fiction of various sorts, poetry and health magazines. My family and friends are the ABSOLUTE reason I wake up every morning! I have had the same bff since 7th grade and like me, she has 3 sons and 1 daughter :) We're twins born to separate families
You can find me on FB (Jerilyn Sigler) and MySpace (proud_mommyof2) (yes, that acct. was made before children #3 and 4 arrived lol). Anything else ya wanna know, please don't hesitate to ask! :)
