I believe a person's overall physical well-being is intricately tied to their overall emotional, spiritual, social and financial well-being, just as the heart and brain are interdependent.

I am currently succeeding at overcoming chronic health issues that affect my energy, endurance, ability to sleep, comfort (pain) and strength. This affects my emotional and spiritual life. It also affects my ability to earn an income and my relationships.

My current health issues are improving, but have made it difficult to exercise, making it difficult to lose weight. My health makes it difficult to work full-time, adding financial stress, leading to emotional stress, leading to physical stress and even spiritual stress, all which stress my relationships.

While I am not able to eliminate my chronic health issues, I am working on accepting what I can't control and improving all areas, physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial, where I can control, which will also lead to improved relationship health.

I am medicine-free after 25 years! I am also experiencing less pain and have been able to do more physical activity. I can see muscle deterioration being reversed. I am also sleeping better. I am emotionally more confident and relaxed and my relationships have improved.

Clay, thanks for the extra running shoes. I sometimes spread my intense walking throughout the day, but once I sweat in my shoes, I need to let the shoes breathe, and refresh my feet and socks. 1) I need to buy more running socks, since I'm running through my 5 pairs rather fast, and 2) I should consider getting a 2nd pair of real running shoes.

And I am relieved you weren't actually sleeping in your car.

    Hope you feel better!

Thanks for the rainbow! Actually we didn't see any! it was overcast the days we were there. Also thanks for the comments on my blog. You are so right, planning is key. I did well my first two days in Toronto with my son, but when you have a large group, my plans were frequently trumped by the group! Back on track today and that's what really matters! Two of those extra pounds gone already! Hope you have an awesome day!!! emoticon

Hi, I saw your response to OnthePath2's blog, "New streak!!! I'm back!". You're right, one can avoid heavy gains while traveling through advance planning. It's double work to walk your tail off on the treadmill only to throw caution to the wind when at a restaurant.

Welcome to SparkPeople, hope you find the information and community that motivates you!
