I have joined the Winter 5% Challenge which is 8 weeks of inspiration towards the weight loss journey. It is a Race to Fascinating Places - Join a supportive team and let's have fun as we lose 5% of our weight, make new friends and improve our health! It starts January 9th.

I live in Washington State, Port Angeles to be exact. It's at the start of the Straits of Juan de Fuca, and directly across the water from Victoria Canada. Beautiful place.

I have struggled with weight my whole life. More than once I''ve had to lose 30 pounds. It just kinda creeps up on ya uh?

My family includes my husband, myself and a Pomchi.

I have 3 daughters, as of Feb 2018 they all live on this side of the Puget Sound too. I have 6 grandchildren, ages 26, 22,10 and 8, 4, and a 2 year old. Only the oldest is a boy, all the rest are girls!

My biggest wish was to live closer to my children and grandchildren again. We are the ones that moved away for 15 years. My wish came true, but it was hard won. On Oct 18, 2013 we had a house fire in our home in Lake Havasu, AZ. It took nine months of misery, RENTALS moves, and insurance adjustments but we moved into OUR home in Port Angeles, WA 7-18-2014. Nine months to the day of the fire.

Here''s to us ALL "positively" losing to our goal weight and then keeping our weight off!!

Being a people person though Debby, you can easily tell by the sparkle of their eyes, the corners of their eyes, and by the rest of their face if they're smiling. MOST are, and also really wanting to talk. SO PLEASE DO NOT HANG Back though "hang back".

Have you thought of making cards for those in nursing homes? They don't need to addressed to anyone by name, but they LOVE THESE!! And other places. Can make them and drop them off (check with the places first) but it's a GREAT Pick me up for you and them.

I worked for rehab for troubled teens ...Vision Quest. It is a camp/wagon train/ tall sailing ships program that takes the kids and puts them to work in an environment where they can succeed . Adults are councilors and advisors..kids do all the work. It was a blast..exhausting and emotionally very difficult at times..but an experience I am so glad I had!!
