Some know this already but I have been gone for some was been a lousy year for me but I have to keep going and my hubby John has brought me through it and here it is in short version cause as they say "it ain't over yet"

.Lost almost a year of my life to sepsis ( bad
infection.....from the hospital) and it ate away my hip so had to have a
replacement and waiting now for replacement of my left shoulder and
rotator cuff.

We also lost our younger son (bad heart) earlier this year (still can't
talk about it) And the psych meds they had me on in the hospital had me
goofy yelling and counting 24 hours a day and bothering everyone....John
told them it was the meds but they would not believe (it was the $$$ they
get from the drug companies. I had NO memory and was totally incontinent
but John brought me out of the hospital (they wanted to send me to a
psychiatric hospital but he would not let them) and he brought me home and
weaned me off ALL the psych meds and I am 99.9% normal again....even the
memory is back....Praise the Lord.
So many people have contacted me but not sure if I should just share this
on my page (to warn people to be careful in hospitals and what meds they
get) or what.

I have battled weight my whole life. Now that I am 60 my goal has become health instead of what I look like. It has taken the Lord these years to teach me to eat correctly and I thank Him for that! 15 years ago I weighed 336lbs. I lost 215lbs using all the wrong ways but kept the weight off for approximately 8-9 years. Food and eating were a total obsession for me. I slowly gained weight back up to a high of 233 in February 2008. I was diagnosed with very high blood sugar (diabetes) and high cholesterol. I began my journey of learning about fiber and correct eating and drinking water. But the most important thing I learned was to exercise and MOVE. It is the key. I have already lost 92lbs through diet and exercise before finding Spark and know that I need ongoing support to avoid falling into "old ways". :) I intend to implement the things I have learned for as long as I am allowed to stay on this earth.

Use this conversion chart to determine the number of steps per minute for activities other than walking. Multiply the number of minutes you participated in the activity by the number indicated in the chart.

For example, high impact aerobics(see chart below) for 30 minutes equals 6,090 steps (30 x 203 = 6,090). If you want to go further and convert that to miles you divide your total of steps by 2 (approx. 2000steps/mile).....(6,090 divided by 2 = 3.04 miles) round your number off for convience sake. My Goals:
At this point in my life my number one goal is my relationship with the Lord. Then to live as healthy a life as I possibly can. It is no longer about being skinny. It is about feeling well and being as fit as I possibly can until the Lord calls me home.

Today, December 15, 2008 I am so excited! I went to the doctor for my checkup for progress on my bloodworks that were high cholesterol and high blood sugar (diabetes). The cholesterol has been down and the a1c glucose has been coming down. Today he told me I am NOT diabetic. Spark is so worth it. What can be worth more than HEALTH????!!!!! I praise God for my results.

My Program:
After years of hard work, I have finally learned how to eat, which is something I never learned before. I know that three things I can never "forget" again, are Portion Control, Water, and Exercise (MOVING whenever possible). I know I need support and encouragement to keep on the right track and with the Lord's guidance I can continue on this path for the rest of my life.

    Ok this is the third time that i had to retype this. I hope yopu and the husband had a great new years. I no i,m going to have a great new year.I,ve contacted all the people in my life that cause me stress & worry, that they are no longer in my life & their is no need for them to contact me anymore. I changed my message on my phone to say, if you are calling to stress or worry me, hang up & don,t call this # again.
