With SparkPeople.Com, it's a lifestyle, not a diet.
I have reached my destination regarding a healthier lifestyle and my weight loss goals. It took me longer, but I have found that slow and steady keeps you on course and helps avoid detours, you can not have an all or nothing attitude (I have maintained my weight within my goal range over 12 years).
This is my advise to others who are beginning their healthier lifestyle journey: SparkPeople really works, but the key is you and consistency. Create a SparkPage and have it set so ...

This is my advise to others who are beginning their healthier lifestyle journey: SparkPeople really works, but the key is you and consistency. Create a SparkPage and have it set so members can see it (I didn't want to do this at first either, but if you commit to this go all the way, we also would like to get to know you better, no strangers here, just friends you have never met). Find and join SparkTeams that fit your interests and needs (best place to talk to your new friends, and get all the support and motivation you will need). Stay active on your teams by joining in the challenges and post frequently. Track your food; drink at least 8 glasses of water a day (challenge yourself to work your way up to it if you are finding this difficult). Add different exercises to your day (start off slowly and increase the amount of exercise over time). Take baby steps, and before you know it those baby steps become giant leaps.
SparkPeople is free, but the rewards are priceless.

My Goals:
Now that I have reached my goal weight. My goal is to maintain it. I will do this by portion control and saying no to seconds, and cut back on alcoholic beverages during weekend get togethers. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day.
My Program:
Alternate between strenth training and aerobics.
Keeping track of my calories and staying under 2000 calories a day.
Personal Information:
My name is Sonia, I am a single mother of a 23 year old son. I live in Surrey, BC in the north area of the great community called Whalley (Bridgeview to be precise).
When I am not working as an Accounting Specialist, I am busy as a community activist that is trying to create positive changes in my neighborhood, and educate people on environmental issues that affect all. The last few years I have embraced the soccer culture and working with others to make it a safer place for all.
Other Information:
