December 22, 2019 update. Now that I have been on Spark People since 2011 many changes to my health attitude and habits have been made and I am so pleased to say I am happy with my weight and feel I can maintain a sensible weight and exercise routine now.
Challenges have kept me trying harder to reach goals and help my team in the fun races (virtual) to reach first place.

My personal challenge is to keep going as long as I can knowing my age will make a difference since seniors have a few added aches and pains to contend with as we go. I have recently taken a part time job working in a ladies retail fashion store . With standing and being on my feet several hours (4-5) I am feeling a challenge to keep going and still be able to get the active exercise each day.
My plans are to keep going in 2020 and keep my food intake to 50-65% carbs, 20-30% Fat and 20% Protein. I have found this works best for me and tracking each day keeps me centered.
My goal has recently changed. Previously it was to lose weight and I still want to do that, however, now I feel so much better after changing to healthy foods I want to continue feeling better and if I lose weight that's great! I am learning so much from the articles about good nutrition. Perhaps it is because I have the time now to read these articles when in prior years I was busy working and raising a family. I didn't make the time nor take the time to be healthier.
I am adding a new goal today to keep my exercise minutes to 300 weekly and reach my goal weigh of 138 by June 1, 2018.

My Goals:
My goal is to continue keeping calories in lower than calories out!
My Program:
I am tracking my food each day, my water intake and exercise. Lower the food intake, up the exercise and don't look back, only forward.
I am getting geared up for 2020 and the Winter challenge which starts on January 4. I am looking specifically at workouts for golf strength and performance. This past year I've made progress in nutrition and will continue to monitor Carbs, fats and proteins.
Personal Information:
I am from a very small town in NC. Our time Zone in NC is Eastern Standard and in the Spring in March we go on Daylight Savings time until November. I believe in God's grace through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and enjoy Christian friends who walk in the light.
Other Information:
I love to play golf, visit the "Y", read books, play games on computer, play Canasta and cards with girl friends, get together with family on outings and vacations.

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Phil 2:3-4.
