I've been overweight for 38 years. I have high blood pressure, take medicine; I've had both knees replaced, I was told a year ago that I was diabetic, Dr. put me on medicine. That was my tipping point, I decided to change me. I searched the internet and Sparkpeople came up. I became a member in April 2018. I have not regretted my decision. Today I am diabetic medicine free, I control it through diet and exercise. I have lost weight and getting healthier. My blood pressure is much better, still on medicine but a much lesser mg. My cholesterol is lower. My overall outlook is much healthier. I track my foods daily and exercise. Change is difficult, but staying the same as I was is not an option.

My Goals:
I am currently 50 pounds from the goal I set for myself. I no longer take medication for diabetes. I take a half of a pill for blood pressure. Things are moving in the right direction for a healthy lifestyle. This is a journey for life, I know I have to stay focused and track my food daily. Exercise has helped a great deal. I feel good with my progress. I am going to see this journey through.

My Program:
I follow my own diet, portion control, lower carbs. Weighing and measuring is important.

Personal Information:
I am married, 42 years, 2 grown children, 4 grandchildren. I want/need to continue with the healthier lifestyle. I have made good progress, but not I have stalled out. I lose the same 5-10 pounds. My fitness level is good, my eating is better, snacking not so good at times. I continue to spark along.

    Thanks so much for your response. I am doing the same things. Diet and lots of walking have lowered both blood pressure and sugar readings. No diabetes meds, they all make me sick but I seem to have it under control.
