Introduction Text I'm sitting at just beyond that midlife point. OK, maybe just a tad bit more than "just beyond". With PCOS, hypothyroidism, and a gall stone with its own zip code, but finally back at goal weight. No children of my own but I have a beautiful step-daughter and a great new son-in-law. I slowly gained weight in early adulthood. With effort, I lost the weight and kept it off for a long time, but then I slowly gained some of it back over the years due to hubris and a few other factors. Once realized, I started on a new personal journey to not just lose the weight but gain strength and health. Hit initial goal weight 11/2010 and second goal 1 year later. The hardest lesson here was, it all takes time and conscious effort. The learning doesn't stop when the weight is off - there is still more wonderful stuff to learn and lots more life to be lived everyday.

To eat better. Move more. Jump higher. Feel aliver. (Yep. I said "aliver".)

Being conscious of what my body needs instead of what my head wants.

No one else can make us eat junk or force us to eat right. No one else can make us gain or lose weight. It all boils down to each one of us and the decisions we make for ourselves.
