You sent me a reply a while back that I'm finally getting back to replying too. Most of my cats showed up here (It turns out a man with a bunch of house cats died and his daughter just put them out so we (several neighbors) had cats including some very friendly ones show up and several were killed on the roads. We have shelters and daytime (we don't want to bring in wildlife (including skunks, raccoons, possums and foxes) that could bring rabies and other diseases or kill or injure the cats - which has happened) feeding stations at several houses. I used to have a feral colony. That is were a lot of my cats have come from over the years. Lucinda was born in the colony, but was left behind in a litter move in a heavy rain storm. Lucia did not come back and get her later when I fed the others even though she was making lots of noise for 4 hours. Since she was about 2.5 to 3 weeks old I took her home and she became a bottle baby. I have had quite a few over the years. She is not the only former bottle here. She probably has feline hyperesthesia and these cats are hypersensitive to lots of contact. My cats come to me when they want. In cold weather I may have several cats come to share body heat at the same time if I sit or lie down. I have a bunch of Sr kitties. We have 3 with serious food allergies (including Lucinda) and 3 with cardiac disease with some overlap and some other not so common problems. I guess it's been a good thing we started studying some of this stuff in vet school a while back and since medicine is always changing we get to keep studying and working with other practitioners on some cases. 147 days ago
