Just turned 74 and it feels so old but I'm still here and I'm still kicking. I live in the Midwest in the summer and in Fl. in the winter. Just want to get and stay healthy. Need some friends to help along the way just found out about this site and thought I'd try it and see. I have 3 sons and 4 grandchildren. I want to be around for them for a long time. I was widowed at age 40 and our boys were 12,13 and 16. My job was to raise them and after they were married I looked for and found another wonderful man. We married about 16 years ago after a devestating incident with a root canal that put me in the hospital for 3 months and a long rehab. I am now happily retired . I am so lucky to have 2 wonderful men in my life plus my wonderful son's as well. My husband is now retired although he had a rough start major back surgery and a stroke he is well on his way to recovery and we are finally starting to enjoy retirement.
My husband had a devestating accident last July where he lost one of his best friends. He was injured badly and is slowly healing.
After 3 years my DH is better but still healing.
I have had more health problems but doing better now. Legs still painful and itchy. Found great doctors in Florida and am feeling much better.
We adopted another dog from the shelter we named her Boo.

Hey, thanks for stopping by my SparkPage. I've tried everything from a glass of milk before bed to a warm bath to help relax me. Playing soft music to help me fall asleep, leaving a fan on for 'white noise', putting a pillow over my eyes, even counting sheep (can't usually focus enough for that)...

At least I'm getting 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night, but it's not really enough. :(

I was reading a comment that Shapnup left and it hit home. Sounds like both of you are having a hard time sleeping in your own bed. I stopped sleeping in my bed last October. My back was so bad in the mornings I couldn't even bend over to put my shoes on. I went to an Oseopath and she did some manipulation and played with my medicine (I have arthritis really bad in my back, disc between L5 and S1 vertabrae is gone). But also, I purchased a Sleep Number bed. Can I just tell you that since I got the bed, I am sleeping the full night up there. I still wake up with some aches and pains, but nothing like I had before. I don't know if it is a possibility for you, but I highly recommend it. I know they are really expensive, but I was able to get a no interest loan for 12 months through them. It is worth it, if you can swing it!! Hope your back gets better, that is just miserable!
