2018 Update - I reached my goal weight November 25, 2012. Most of 2017 I hovered just above goal weight but I didn't stress. I continued to maintain my healthy habits.

2018 called for some adjustments. I went through PT for a strained periformis and rediscovered the importance of regular strength training, falling in love with dreaded lunges and glute work along with other muscle groups.

I do not define myself by the scale. It's not about being skinny for me. It's about strength and endurance now.

I believe in baby steps to achieve goals and maintain lifelong healthy habits.

I look forward to continue learning from Spark friends and staying active in 2019!

    Thank you for your thoughtful comment on my blog. I am often contacted by descendants of the crew seeking information about their loved one. The most meaningful was from the family of a radioman killed when one of the ship's "spotter planes" was shot down over France during a recon mission. They never knew exactly what happened and when until they read about it in Dad's diary. Also on the website was a photo of their 19 year old relative standing on the deck and also a picture of the ceremony onboard where he posthumously received the Distinguished Flying Cross.

    Dad told me once that no one was interested in looking at his pictures. I think he would be pleased to know people are looking at them now
