Introduction Text Welcome to Spark and the Thyroid Community Team. I get asked a lot about my art... the images you see here that are non-photos. The medium is aquatint/etching. Its a type of printing process, where an image is created on a sheet of copper, using corrosive salts, grounds, burnishing, sanding and scraping. After the image has been refined, its inked and wiped, pulled thru a 1.5 ton hand press with a dampened sheet of paper and felt blankets. During this final process the ink is transferred to the paper. Its extremely time consuming and challenging as the process is full of surprises that you don't always have the ability to anticipate or control. Many of these surprises are not um... desirable. LOL Rather like thyroid disease. Between the Hashi's and Aquatints I should be a Zen Master by now. Unfortunately, I am not. Its nice to have a goal... although I can't quite decide if the goal has me. Namaste : ) Mzzchief
