I woke up this morning, January 5th, 2020, weighing more than I have in years, 185 pounds. Over the past 3 months, I have gained about 15 pounds. The last 10 pounds during and after Christmas. I haven't anything in life that would make such a gain explainable. Life is good, just not with the scale. I want to catch this before it is another 15 pounds. I am really hoping for fast on fast off.

April 2, 2020. Well, it wasn't fast on fast off, just fast on. I have lost a little this year. This morning I was 175. I joined the Spring 5% Challenge and I am a Shooting Star. I hope this helps to get me back on track. The world is a different place than it was in January when I first joined Sparks. I am curious to see where it goes during the 8 weeks of the challenge. As much as I want to lose weight, it's not nearly as important as it was before the Covid-19.

My Goals:
I plan to be 150 pounds by June. ... Skip ahead to April 2. I could still do it.

My Program:
Healthy food and exercise. I eat little flour, white sugar or red meat. I seldom have any prepared food, take out or restaurant food. I like to walk and walk 3 to 6 miles a day. ... April 2... this hasn't changed much, in fact, I'm not working much, for the next few months, I should be able to do more.

Personal Information:
My weight has been all over the scale. I have battled the bulge my entire life. I have been 250 pounds, and 140. The past few years I have stayed around 170, plus or minus a bit. I am a potter and have a part-time office job. We live in a rural village of about 250 people and I enjoy the slow and friendly pace of small-town living.

Other Information:
I am married. We have a blended family of 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren. Our kids have moved far and wide and we don't get together nearly as often as I would like. We have fur babies at home, 2 dogs that love to walk. They make it easy to get out there and get my walking in. I walk, they run.

    In an office:
Would the person who took the step ladder yesterday please bring it back or further steps will be taken.

    Outside a photographer's studio:
Out to lunch. If not back by five, out for dinner also.

Notice in a dry cleaner's window:
Anyone leaving their garments here for more than 30 days will be disposed of.

    Seen during a conference:
For anyone who has children and doesn't know it, there is a day care on the first floor.

    Notice in a country field:
The farmer allows walkers to cross the field for free, but the bull charges.

Sign on a repair shop door:
We can repair anything (Please knock hard on the door, the bell doesn't work.)

    Sign outside a secondhand shop:
We exchange anything - bicycles, washing machines, etc.
Why not bring your wife along and get a wonderful bargain.

    Enjoy your weekend!

emoticon for the yummy watermelon. It was so tasty and cooling on this warm summer day. emoticon emoticon “Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” — John Lubbock emoticon emoticon

I shore am glad it's Friday! How about you? Since it's the end of July, I think we should have a little shellabration, so I have reeled in some summer jokes that I think you will find laughabubble; although you may find summer better than others.

What game do anglers like to play during summer?
    Go Fish

What did the boy say to his mother after a few hours at the beach?
    Mommy I'm surf bored.

What is the best thing to take to the beach for a picnic?
    Peanut butter and jellyfish "sand"wiches.

What is a sea monster's favorite food?
    Fish and ships.

Why did the whale swim across the ocean?
To get to the other tide.

    Which fish is a comedian?
    A clown fish.

What did the shark say after eating the clown fish?
    That sure tasted funny.

Water you think? Sink or swim?
I think it might be time to for me to clam up and high tide it outta here.

Happy Fry-day and enjoy the weekend!
