Introduction Text Fat since age 5, I've never been thin but have been "acceptable" a couple times in my life. I'm diabetic, depressed and want to lose weight, but I just have no resolve. I have started to join SparkPeople several times, but I guess now I'm doing it. I'm hoping that next year at this time I'll wonder why I didn't do it sooner.

My goals include getting a grip on eating right for my diabetes. I hate being the only one in our group of friends who can't enjoy the food & drink we all bring to our gatherings, so I want to find a new attitude about this. It's probably the biggest block I have to losing weight and managing my diabetes.

Stay regular on the SP boards. Make better choices when I'm in social situations. Cut down on snacking after dinner!

I'm a full-time RVer, which is a really fun way to live but makes it very difficult to find good doctors who want to treat me ("here today, gone tomorrow"). I'm not retired, I work 6-7 months out of the year, but the big reward is getting to spend 3-4 months in Mexico. I'm an avid digital photographer, and the bird life in Mexico (and other places) provides some of my greatest pleasures.

With my lifestyle, it's not always easy to find an internet connection. Hopefully I'll be consistent on the team, but understand if I'm gone a lot!
