Schroon Lake (Adks). from my parents' dock, looking north as the sun set one Spring evening 2016.
View from lakefront at my parents'' home. Ahhh how I love it, with its ever-changing sky, waves and natural splender!
Magnificent nature soothes the soul. My year basking in the peace of Oahu stays with me.

Project Me my adventure into lifestyle change
My original user name for the first 3.5 years on SP was GrandmaSam. Sam60SumThink? It works ...for now. But don't expect me to retain this name either! ===== During my time as an active member of SP I've made vast changes in my lifestyle and in my life. I don't think of weightloss as a 'goal' per se. To me, it represents a measurement of health status, and is a by-product of the true goal: good health from a healthy lifestyle. To have "thin" as the ultimate goal has no meaning for me. To have "more slender" HAPPEN? Kewl!! That could even mean the smaller clothing would let more clothing items fit into each laundry load! Healthy living has been and will remain my focus here online and in the choices I make offline too. Some things stand out as important to me in my journey: THE SP DIET STAGES: My SP exerience aka time has proven to me the value of things we often overlook. Therefore, I cannot stress enough to new members the value of truly reading those SP Diet Stages! Our most difficult to conquer issues are firmly embedded in old habits so old and embedded that we don't realize they exist until we focus on what makes us say "Oh I know THAT". When some suggestion or advice seems 'old hat', consider the possibility that THAT is precisely what needs most attention. Yup, I'm a strong advocate of working - working! - through the SP Diet Stages! "Is it really THAT important to track?" YES!! Tracking and measuring ... and then reviewing reports and summaries! ... empowered me to understand the areas of nutrition that needed overhaul. A true lifestyle journey never really ends; the more we improve, the further we can travel! What is imortant as we begin and continue changes in lifestyle is to: ENJOY the journey! Go for it!

My Goals:
GOAL:
...2 b the best I can b!
1. HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.
2. MY GOAL FOR ACTIVITY:
Keep pushing my limits further.
3. LOSE WEIGHT,
last but not least of my goals. The result of all others, yes?! YES!
My Program:
(1) ACTIVITY:
a. Walk.
b. Daily stretches and exercises.
d. exercise videos for limited mobility! Found some on YouTube that are great!
(2) NUTRITION:
...* Proportioned balance and lots of color served bikini-plate style!
...* Moderation,
...* Enough. Remind myself to eat (I tend to forget).
I use the Bikini Plate 'model' of meal-planning. Light on everything but those nutrient-dense veggies.
Personal Information:
Love music, learning. Am a self-described 'friendly recluse'. People always laugh, but... somehow the description fits just fine!
A mother of 2 grown sons, grandmother of 5: I find every obstacle a challenge that empowers me... and grounds me in optimism.
Other Information:
I may be the Queen of the Turtles in terms of visible change, but the changes I'm continuing to make INside are HUGE! Between medication, my stage of life and fibromyalgia there is probably an explanation for my pathetic metabolism; but explanations are no excuse for not being optimistic that persisting will eventually get me to the goals (which do include weight-loss) that I have and will set for myself here at SP.
Life is a journey.
And everything we do enhances our private journeys.
