My name is Ute, I live in Upstate New York with my husband and our cockatiel Goose. I have been a Spark Member since 2006 and always enjoy the support from my fellow Sparkers. My main focus is to use the tools here to help me lose the excess weight that might lead to health problems down the road, and take pressure off my knees. Challenge Exercise Commitment: Strength Training: Body Weight Exercises, light dumbells, rubber bands Minimum 10 minutes, 5 days per week. Sources: Deck of Cards Workout, 1 Minute Crunch Sessions Cardio: Minimum 20 minutes 5 days a week Deck of Cards Workout, 1 Minute Crunch Sessions, Walking outdoors, Youtube: Step Aerobics Videos, Sarah Beth Yoga, YMCA cardio machines and swimming.

My Goals:
Top Goal is to not develop any of the modern world illnesses that are looming on the horizon, as far as they can be prevented by making good choices.

Aging gracefully and still be able to touch my fingers to the floor when I am 75.


My Program:

Personal Information:
I am German, living in Upstate NY. My family consists of hubby (found in bar in 1991), twin girls (found in hospital in 1992), labrador (found at backyard breeder in 2001), oodle (found at friends house in 2002), cockatiel (found in parking lot in 2008). ....my beautiful Lab passed away in August 2017


Other Information:
I love life, Jesus, dogs, lavender and spreading the cheer wherever I go. My favorite bible passage is Psalm 91.

    What a pleasant surprise to find you post. I really appreciate your kind words and ITA with your sentiments about positive reinforcement.

    Also am considering going vegetarian myself. I thought I would miss meat, but since I have cut back on it so drastically anyway, I am finding (shock of shocks) that I am just as happy with an all-vegetable dinner. Still thinking it over, though. I'll let you know if I take the complete plunge. (I love soy and tempeh, so I'm more than halfway there, dontcha think?!)

    The pix --with you and Bunny, Velvet, and Bunny with Peachy are so wonderful! Thanks for sharing!! Bunny and Velvet (gorgeous coat!) are just too cute for words . . . and I can tell they are both as sweet as can be. I am very sorry that Peachy is gone now, hon. (I can see she wasn't a parakeet--my dd had two. What type of bird was she?)
