I come and go here when I need the support. I'm selfish that way. Anyway, on August 24, 2020, I'm going back to school for a degree in nutrition and this will be a great place to journal that journey and my discoveries.

I follow Dr. John McDougall's Starch Solution, but not religiously. Right now, just plan and track. As of October 16, 2020, I will see how many days I can stay on the plan.

5% Challenge food plan:
Track everything
Shoot for 50g or less of fat
ideal is Starch Solution
Pollan's Rule: Real food. Not too much. Mostly plants.

5% Challenge exercise plan:
Monday and Wednesday: flexibility class (1 hour)
Every other day: minimum 20 minutes of some kind of exercise

The advantages of eating well:

Heart health
More energy
Better skin
Better sleep
Disease resistance
Better digestion
More strength
Lower food costs
Fewer prescription drugs
It sparks my partner
Less inflammation and joint pain
Better blood numbers
Improved brain health/less dementia later
Improved sexual health (less damage to small blood vessels)
Healthy kidneys
Healthy teeth
Better for the environment
Reduced risk of macular degeneration
