    Yes, you actually see the sites. At each milestone pictures and history and every step along the way there's a "street view" where you can pan 360 degrees to see the whole area.
    The site is www.worldwalking.org and it's free. Thousands of routes around the world.

    I've been doing it for 6 years solo and this year we have a sparkpeople group where we add our steps together. Really great for those LONG walks that would take me years to see on my own.
