Introduction Text I began here in January 2010 as PennyAn45, and I will most likely continue for a long time to come. My goal is to lose weight and keep it off permanently. Losing the weight is only the beginning. I did that. Keeping it off requires just as much focus and effort. I am working on that.

--Establish permanent habits of eating healthfully and exercising regularly. --Remain at the new lower weight permanently.

--Eat a nutritionally balanced diet with more vegetables --Eat smaller portions --Limit sugar --Limit animal fats --Drink water --Regular walking --Strength training Per M.D.: Each day consume 120% MDR of calcium from food sources.

Married since 1967 to a great guy. Mom to 2 grown sons who make me very proud. Grandma to 3 little ones who bring joy to my life. Retired educator -- at elementary school level and college level. Enjoying new adventures and new opportunities for learning. Celebrating life.

I enjoy: spending time with family and friends, hiking, walking being in nature photography reading, writing sewing, knitting, crocheting sudoku, spider solitaire puzzles and games NPR, PBS, Nat'l Geo, Discovery TV Netflix, Hulu, Amazon British mysteries Movies
