I've been retired from work for a month now, and adjusting my focus on life somewhat. It's nice to have the space and time and energy to rest, but also expand into areas that I didn't have time or energy for before. A year of development for me I think. New adventures.

I am 66 yrs old, 5'3" tall. In case you're curious, my 'goal' weight on the ticker is 110lbs.

As I get older, I'm finding it more and more necessary to make sure I move every day - that means physical training every day - flexibility, strength, mobility, stamina. Being seriously committed to it - not just doing it when I feel like it.

I want to be strong, fit, supple, happy, healthy, full of energy!

Keeping weight down is worthwhile for many reasons - but check this out:-

".. every pound of weight loss results in five pounds of stress taken off your knees, seven pounds off your ankles, and a whopping ten pounds off your spinal discs!"

My Goals:
These are my physical goals: I want to have achieved the following:-

1) to be maintaining my weight around 110lbs by the end of 2021

2) to keep my waist under 29" (I'd like to get it down to 27" eventually!)

3) to maintain a supple and strong body into my later years

4)To be a slim, strong, fit woman!

January 2021 : 8 stone 6lbs (118lbs) BMI 20.9 (normal range) WHR 0.83 (moderate risk - avocado shape)

My Program:
I aim to walk or run at least 30 mins every day. Ideally the running needs to be 3 times a week and I'm currently on week 3 of a C25K program which I'm enjoying. Also religiously doing warm-ups before running and stretches after running/

On non-running days, I'm doing what I feel I need to do from a selection of workouts from either the professionals at Healthy Cornwall, or something from The Body Project.

In January - I intend to do YWA Breath yoga workouts daily

For the behavioural/emotional reasons for eating: Linda Spangle's 100 Days of Weight Loss programme

NoS diet - No snacks, sweets or seconds except on days that begin with S.

My meal times have changed - I now have breakfast around 9am, lunch around 12, and tea around 5pm - so I'm effectively having an overnight 'fast' of at least 12 hours - usually longer. I consider this a healthy achievement.

I have been a vegetarian since I was 18 yrs old. I am aiming to shift to a mostly

Personal Information:
I live by the sea in the South West of the UK. I'm retired. I have one son who is married and lives a couple of hundred miles away - and they have one child, my most treasured grandson, who will be 4 in 2021. I have no pets. I live in a flat in a block for seniors. I volunteer at an independent library, doing admin kind of stuff, and also at an art gallery/community hub project - also mostly admin. I belong to a recorder group. And I sometimes try to learn Cornish although that has fallen by the wayside a bit.

Other Information:
Books I've found useful:
'Eating Less - say goodbye to overeating' by Gillian Riley
'The end of overeating - taking control of our insatiable appetite' by David A Kessler

Look like you and I are the same height, but I am way over ten year older than you but stilll have to loose 30 lbs...... when I do I want to really be able to have learned to continue to eat right. I was 125 lbs.....in 1978 and look great..... What happened I wasn't as active taking my boys to little league and playing with them because they were in Junior high and even in High school they had their friends to do thing with. So I had to just learn I have to walk and get doing exercises by myself and with hubby when he will come to gym. Loose very slowly..... emoticon

Hi there Raw cookie, thanks for stopping by my page. Yes, I was born in the year of horse and according to Japanese zodiac I was born in " Fire horse" which only come in every 60 years. Since I am a woman and they say which is no good. Fire horse women are too strong for the men or bad luck. They say fire horse woman will eats a men. When I was growing up my classes are always smaller the previous year classes or after. Most of parents will do birth control to not have kids in this year of " fire horse". But I don't feel I am a bad luck. I kinda feel lucky to be born in the fire horse. So I'll see, next horse year will be my true fire horse year and wondering what will happen to me. I feel lucky already this year. Lol)))

And you guessed right about SGI- member as well kinda of. I said kind of, because I am in active right now. You can said I am a sleeping Buddha at moment. Yes, I am not proud of it but log story short, I am a fortune baby, that's what some people called. And it is hard to stick with it some time or I am spoil in that way. I'm always come back to practice so far, but this time it's kind of hard since I lost my ex husband which was a leader in organization in the battle of cancer. I feel questioning in authentication of his love towards me as well. Not just cancer issue. So it's a long story...
I know very well of " cause and effect " so actually I know I can not blame nobody but me. So will see.. Hope you are enjoying your practice and a happy.

Thank you for stopping by to support me! I have really been enjoying this healthy diet of mine so far, although its only been a couple days...the smoothies are raw too, and usually pretty filling. The green one is just a lot of veggies, with lemon and crushed red pepper to season them, and water, and the blue one is a blueberry banana one made with almond milk. I got that 4-point salad idea from a book =)

My husband came home and put the grill in the box, cleaned the dog's water bowls and gave her water in the kitchen and in the basement where we feed our dog and cat. He also took the recycling out to the bin on the side porch. I was grateful for a little help.

I got up this morning and saw a plate and fork on my desk in the living room where my son put it. He ate supper in the recliner since he didn't get home until after we were finished. He has lived elsewhere and when we visited, it was a show place. He is 31.

I follow FlyLady and I do my cleaning because I like my house to at least not look like dishes are left from a meal days ago, but my husband and son keep me hopping!

    Have a great weekend!

Heh that probably happens, but as my flatmate was already awake I asked if she could smell smoke too and she said yes. So it was definitely actually there!
