Most recent update = August 3rd, 2020

I had a VSG - vertical sleeve gastrectomy - better known as a gastric sleeve on June 24th 2020. I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager and I am now 50. I am tired of it. I lost over 100 pounds in 2016, kept most of it off but simply have not been able to lose more. I needed a tool that will help me do this. Please, for those that have not followed me in this, do not think "this was the easy way" it ain't even close to easy. But it is a beautiful tool with which to reach my goals and stay there!

Highest Weight (HW) 435 - BMI Feb 1st 2016 = 68.1
Surgery Weight (SW) 352 lbs - BMI June 24th 2020 = 55.1
Current Weight (CW) 322 lbs - BMI August 3rd 2020 = 50.4
Goal Weight (GW) 159 lbs - BMI = DATE??? = 24.9

I try to keep my page updated. If I haven't updated in a while, feel free to Sparkmail me and ask me to update!

My Goals:
I just want to be comfortable in my own skin. To be able to walk around in the stores. To be able to take care of myself without help. I want to LIVE

My Program:
I have to make sure I get protein before any other foods or I may not have room for the protein. But I am not "low-carb". It's just that protein has to come first since my VSG

Personal Information:
My real name is Kathy and I live in southern West Virginia with my Husband James.
we have no kids
I am a 1970 model - just like my husbands favorite car - his Chevelle!
I am 5'7"
I was 5'8" as a teenager! I lost an inch the wrong direction!!!!

Hello my beautiful Sister, On track today? Thank the Lord, that I was. I also got in 2.50 miles today Woo Hoo!! How about you, Kat? What makes it so great the Doctor started me on two weeks of prednisone and cortisone. We all know that taking prednisone can make you gain weight. But I am determined to get ahead of it. I also have to take a pill called purl for my cough. I already take a butt load of meds as it is since my brain surgery. But with Jesus we are taking this walk, you and me. I love you Kat and will be looking forward to your next blog.
    Your sister

So nice to hear from you and I know you will join us when you can. I had a bad week last week, went out to eat every day. grrrrrrrrrr It is my fault, but no matter how I try I fall backwards. Have you considered watching your sodium count? I know after the age of 50 you should keep your sodium at 1500 mg and that is by so many doctors. When I do that (trust me it is not an easy task) I lose weight. I don't have salt in my house, I wasn't brought up using it, so I thought it would be a piece of cake. HA....my first day counting sodium it was 4500 mg, boy was that a wake up call. Take care and I will always be there for you. Bev
