A Crisis- My Scale Broke!

A funny story...at least one that made my husband laugh.
It's hot in South Carolina. It's humid. Going out of the house to run errands requires me to muster some energy and resolve. Not because I'm tired, but because I hate getting all sweaty. I can live off brown rice if I don't feel like going to the grocery store.
However, the other morning I stepped on my scale. A beautiful, wonderful number came up. I looked at the scale and realized (unhappily) that it couldn't be correct. I got off the scale. I got back on. The number was now 15 pounds higher. Well, on a positive note, I knew that number was also incorrect (happily).
Without hesitating, I rushed and got dressed and headed to Wal-Mart. I can live without food. I can even live without soda. But without a scale? Not going to happen. I purchased a scale, and rushed back to the house to get weighed. Luckily, I was happy with the number.
Is anyone else out there too scale dependent?
