Downer Tuesday

We have been planning a trip north to see our kids, grandkids and great grandkids for about 6 weeks and tonite I got a call from my brother that he isn't going to be able to come down to help out with Dad. He travels a lot for his job and he is going to have to fill in for a fellow worker who had surgery and it is all completely out of his control. He probably won't even be here for Dad's 99th birthday which is in Sept.
We knew when we brought my father to Fl the bulk of his care would be for hubby and me but planned a little respite from time to time with help from my brother and friends. We have managed one 5 day trip in the past year and the rest of the time it is up to us. My two brothers up north never offer any help! I don't think it ever dawns on Dad how tied down we are.
Ok, time to stop the pity party and figure out something else fun to do! I am getting my kitchen and bedroom painted on Thur so that is my treat.
I walked this morning and worked in the yard early as it got too hot later on. Tomorrow I won't get to walk as Dad has his 2nd surgery for the cancerous spot on his nose and gets the stitches out where they took another spot off his back.
We will survive and even thrive but sure wanted to see those little ones! Thank God for computers and pictures.
