Wacky Wednesday

Wednesday, August 04, 2010

This has been a busy day. This heat makes accomplishing much a real chore, but I keep chugging along. Up early to take care of Dad and did a little gardening-that is a constant in my life. Then home to get ready for company tomorrow. I got an angel food cake made to serve with fresh peaches and a low fat, sugar free cheese cake for desserts. I am going to make a roast with all the trimmings and a zucchin/squash casserole for the meal.
Excited to see my niece, her husband and daughter along with my brother and his wife. Ronnie has just returned from being posted to Korea for a year and he and Erica and Mack will leave for Ft. Bliss before the end of the month for 2 years.
Dad loves getting the company and I get all the work-had to clean his house and ours and do the cooking but someone has to do it! Hubby at least ran the vacuum which he could not do before his back surgery-woo hoo. It was nice to find it done when I got back from taking dad to dr to get his stitches out. Since hubby doesn't drive I am the chauffer for everything and everyone!!!
Tonite was our monthly meeting for Caring Canines-our therapy dog group. We meet monthly to plan our visitations and brainstorm, etc. It is nice to get out other than when we are at the hospital or nursing homes. With this heat we haven't been going to Boggy Creek which is a camp Paul Newman started near us.
Now it is time to call it a nite as I must be up early tomorrow to finish getting ready for company.
