A night in the dark

We all take our electricity for granted and then when it fails, it really makes us appreciate it, even if we grumble about how much it costs every month!!
Tonite was our monthly social club meeting and it had barely gotten underway when the electric went out. No lights, about 25 people in our hall, leaders trying to read by the failing light of the sunshine thru the windows. One member went home and got 3 flashlights and the meeting continued with those tiny beams of light.
I was on the refreshment committe and it was fun trying to help folks get a piece of cake with so little light. No one got coffee as it didn't brew. Tomorrow we have to go back to make sure we got things straightened up and do some touch up work on the hall!
This got me to thinking, our lives are like this-sometimes the light burns brightly and things go along quite well, but when it dims, things tend to get off track. I hope to keep my light burning strong.
