Beautiful Saturday

Today we left at 7:30 to go to a community wide garage sale-there were over 200 homes in there having stuff for sale! Oh the thrill of the hunt for that special to die for bargain. When we arrived about 7:45, we found traffic lined up outside the community waiting to get in at 8 am-they are a gated community and kept everyone out till then-no early birds at this sale. What a madhouse when we finally did get in. People were crazy-they parked every which way, it was almost impossible to drive up and down the streets and this is a huge golf cart community so one had to drive. We just parked and would walk a couple of long blocks at a time and then move to anther section in order to cover the most ground. Still, I don't think we managed to go to more than half of the places with things for sale
I am sorry to report after over 4 hours, I only bought two tops, a pr of shorts and a pr of jeans for my hubby ($5 spent) and I got one reindeer for park decorations. We found that most of the people were wanting new prices for their stuff or weren't willing to wheel and deal but as the day progressed, they got a lot more agreeable but we simply wore out.
I hadn't seen dad before we left but had put his newspaper on his front step where he could pick it up with his grabber when he did get up, so I went to check on him when we returned. He was doing fine and had cleaned up some leftovers for his lunch. I am so thankful he is able to do some things for himself yet.
Then I took an hour off to rest my feet before I went out to plant more of the "weeds" as my hubby calls them. I am making progress but going to need at least 1 more day to get the last of the plants in for the park for the winter. It is taking shape and the ones we planted last week are looking good. I hope the coming week isn't too hard on them as it is supposed to be around 80 every day.
I didn't get my normal walk in today, but I did get in a lot of walking and then did all the planting so feel it wasn't a total loss for the day.
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.
