Getting Ready for the Holidays

I think I have probably blogged about being the head of the beautification committee for our community-not sure it is an honor-more like an upaid and overworked volunteer, but until they wear me down, I will continue to do this as I seem to enjoy doing it-my hubby says I am a little crazy
I had bought a couple more flats of pansies and ornamental cabbages this week and needed to get them planted before they expired hanging out in my carport, so I was up by 7:30 this morning and got busy getting that done and by about 8:30, that job was done. The sorry thing is I still need to buy more as when one is planting so many beds one needs a lot to fill things in nicely. Oh joy!
After coming home and finding hubby in the shower, I decided to get our breakfast and get him to help me get out the Christmas decorations. I had some stored in our attic and the rest in tubs in the club storage unit and I needed his help to get things down. By the time we went thru tubs, etc and got everything hauled to our house, it was time for my helpers to arrive and they did get here right on time-10 am. With this being a holiday week, everyone is really busy and they wanted the park decorated right after Thanksgiving, so I had to take down the fall decorations and we got busy. We worked on decorating 5 different areas and after about 6 hours, we have it mostly done. One of my helpers and I are going out tomorrow to buy more bows. We have found we are lucky to get two weeks out of them as they fade so much in this sun. I will plug in the extension cords and timers on Thur and voila we will be transformed to a holiday theme.
(Pics to follow).
We are hoping to be able to get a sleigh and several more reindeer to use in our decorating at a bargain price-we have an in with a lady who is having a yard sale this weekend and she has said she will let us buy them before the sale. Wish me luck on this one.
Again, I didn't get my formal walk, but I certainly did a lot of walking and was on my feet for aabout 8 hours today-my toes and legs are telling me about it tonite!
I wish all my Spark friends a very Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful Holiday season.
