Our kids with the fire are hanging in there. Evidently they have an insurance agent who hasn't had much experience with handling claims for a house fire. Thankfully they are open to advice and I think it will all work out-in time! He didn't even offer to put them up so they slept on the smoky mattress in the smoky bedroom as they had no other place to sleep! I have advised if they don't get more satisfaction tomorrow to get an arbitrator to mediate between them and the insurance company. Supposedly they are going to take out most of their furniture and treat it in an ozone room. I am sure that may work on the wood furniture but not too confident on the fabric pieces. I think this is not going to be a fast process to get their home back to square one.
D-I-L is doing better today and so far she has not developde pneumonia so think she will be ok. Son's hands are doing better - I advised they get aloe to put on the burns. He has no insurance so they are trying to avoid big medical bills. Terrible when you work but still do not have access to insurance.
Son who lost his job still hasn't called which is hard for mom as I would like to encourage him but don't want to let him know his brother spilled to me. How do you deal with adult children in times like these. Sure a slippery path we trod as we don't want to step on their indepence but want to offer our support-if they ask!
Hard being a supportive parent from long distance but we try to make it work.
I thank everyone who has offered their support and prayers. God Bless you.
