Blessed Rain

Saturday, June 25, 2011

I know to many it sounds strange to be so happy to finally get rain but we have been so dry and the fires are burning all around us-some set, others started from lightning strikes and with everything so dry, they are spreading easily. The rain has been starting to come in the past week and many areas would get 1-3 inches, but we hadn't gotten any so when we got 2 different showers today, I did the happy dance. Tonite I won't have to go out and spend an hour watering everything. It also lowered our temperature too. Normally we are still in the upper 80's to low 90's at 6 pm, but tonite we are at 75 but it is very humid. I won't complain though, I am just too happy to have gotten the rain and we have another 50% chance for tomorrow.
It seems strange for us to be begging for rain when other areas are praying it will stop and there is major flooding up north but that is how strange the weather has been this year.

I spent 2 months doing my rain go away dance...it sounds like it finally worked! Glad you get to experience some of the wonderful wetness we have been having up north for the last few months.

We could use a little dry weather. There were places in South Dakota that
had 8-10 inches of rain in2 days. So much flooding. But such is life. Hope
more comes your way soon. HUGS!

Glad to hear that you're getting the rain you need! It seems like we need to find a way to get the rain/water away from the places that have too much and ship it to areas that desperately need it.

I know what you mean. Here in Colorado there is barely any pasture grasses for the goats. Last year it was almost swampy. So glad you are getting some relief.
