Blessed Rain

I know to many it sounds strange to be so happy to finally get rain but we have been so dry and the fires are burning all around us-some set, others started from lightning strikes and with everything so dry, they are spreading easily. The rain has been starting to come in the past week and many areas would get 1-3 inches, but we hadn't gotten any so when we got 2 different showers today, I did the happy dance. Tonite I won't have to go out and spend an hour watering everything. It also lowered our temperature too. Normally we are still in the upper 80's to low 90's at 6 pm, but tonite we are at 75 but it is very humid. I won't complain though, I am just too happy to have gotten the rain and we have another 50% chance for tomorrow.
It seems strange for us to be begging for rain when other areas are praying it will stop and there is major flooding up north but that is how strange the weather has been this year.
