Easy Blister Prevention

Tuesday, August 02, 2011

To prevent blisters, apply any type of antiperspirant to the bottom of your feet before you go jogging or hiking. The antiperspirant should prevent the friction that causes blisters.

You can also use other types of lubricants to prevent blisters, such as petroleum jelly (available at drugstores).

I got this tip from a health website but not sure if the petroleum jelly would work, I think you might slip and slide in your sock but I know it is great to put on your feet at night with a pair of sock to make your soles really soft (do it most nights).

I use olive oil at night with the socks. I might try the petroleum jelly. I bet it would be less messy. I wear the runners non-cotton socks to prevent blisters, but interesting that antiperspirant works.

The deodorant on your feet also helps if you have a tendency toward smelly sweaty feet. If you roll it on the bottom of your feet consistently for a few weeks it greatly reduces the odor even when you don't use going forward.
