Girls Day Out

I guess I am making this a birthday weekend and still celebrating. Yesterday at dinner, my friend, Vicky, and I decided to go shopping together today. We left here about 9:45 and didn't get back until 3! I got up early to work in my flower beds and trimmed and pulled enough weeds to fill 3 buckets which filled a big black trash bag and I still didn't get done but at least it looks better. It is hard to believe I just did this about 2 weeks ago-with the heat and the rain we have been getting, the weeds just go crazy and I have to keep deadheading the roses to keep them blooming!
I had to check on dad and take care of things for him, then I picked up Buttons, our friends shih-tzu, as her daddy is still in the hospital. Then it was home for a quick bite of breakfast, a shower and off we went.
I had pulled a couple of coupons off the internet last nite for Bath & Body. If you spent $10, they would give you any item free up to $13! What a deal. We had fun smelling all the scents before deciding what we would get. This will make some nice Christmas gifts.
Our Bealls Department store had a big sale on their summer merchandise and we checked it all out and Vicky tried on a lot of things but only bought a nice pair of dress slacks and a top for her d-i-l for Christmas. All I got was a pr of denim shorts for DH. There just wasn't anything that tempting even at 80% off and then another 30% off that! I am too much of a thrift/yard sale junkie I guess to even pay these discounted prices!!
Our last stop was at Wal-Mart and we both shared a cart but we had it pretty well full when we finally checked out as I also shopped for a few things for dad. We finally got out of there about 2:30 and called to check on our hubbies before stopping for a bite and heading home.
All in all, I would call it a very enjoyable day and one we plan to do again soon!
