Feeling Sad

I talked to my cousin just last evening and she sounded good, but frustrated with her care. She told me that the latest medical update was it was her ankle broken and not her leg. She was still having the usual breathing difficulty but nothing new.
I had an e-mail from her husband about 11 that he had just talked to her and she was doing ok but getting really upset with the care and he was going to head to the rehab facility.
About 1:30 I got a call from my younger son that her daughter was trying to reach me and she had coded twice. What a drastic change in such a short time. Before I could get a call in to Patty, my older son called with the same message. Her younger daughter had texted him. As you can see, we are all a pretty close knit family even if miles separate us.
I got thru to Patty and she updated me, my cousin had coded for a third time and her dad was trying to make the decision as to whether they should continue in this vein. Patty didn't think she would last much longer and she was not coherent when they did revive her.
I have been upset and crying most of the afternoon. I did call her brother and talked to him a few minutes. She is in Phoenix, he is in Ill, my sons are in Washington & Missouri and I am in Florida. I feel so bad there is no family there to help support them.
I know she isn't young, but in today's terms, 67 is not that old. Makes me very sad and I will miss our nitely e-mail chats. It has kept us close in heart since we were so far apart.
Say a little prayer for the family, especially her husband as he has health issues and is very depressed.
