Almost a decade ago, hubby and I started an annual October tradition of going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg to celebrate Howl-O-Scream with friends of ours that live in the Norfolk area!! We ride the rides and then in the evening, go thru the haunted houses.
Last night, we may have added another annual tradition; going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg Christmas Town!! It was such a juxtaposition to walk thru areas that only several weeks ago held ghoulish characters ready to scare the life out of us!! Now it was covered in holiday lights and the fragrant scent of pine mixed with the occasional addition of kettlecorn! There were carolers and Christmas music. And as you walked from country to country, they piped in carols that were sung in the native language!! I found the French carols to be the most charming!! They also had vendors selling crafts and other goodies. Since we're pretty tight on $$, we just window shopped!!
We ate at the Smokehouse in New France. I enjoyed a club sandwich with turkey and ham on bread with currants mixed in. I also tried their holiday S’mores which I threw away because it did not taste that good.
And yes, your adrenaline junkie rode the Alpengeist!!! It was cold but the view I could very briefly see at the top was incredible!!! Did I mention it was cold and my nose thought it was going to freeze off during the ride!!! Did I also mention your adrenaline junkie was ready to ride again??
Enjoy the video and the pictures!!! And if you live near Busch Gardens, do not hesitate to go!!

My favorite picture!!! Look how they dressed up the Pompeii ride!!! And the lights look like moving water!!!
