Starting the New Year Finally

I know everyone else is a week ahead of me, but I lost last week trying to get rested back up from our trip north and had to get back into our afternoon routine of radiation for DH.
We worked mornings on cleaning things out at dad's and I am so happy that is done. Just a couple little ends to tie up and we actually have someone coming to look at it on Tues and a couple more people who are interested if he doesn't take it. Keep your fingers crossed that it does sell and that will be one more bit of closure for me.
I plan to return to my normal routine on Mon and get back into the gym-I have just been fitting things in at home for the past week so this will help me start to forge a new "normal" since I no longer have to go check on dad several times a day. I still watch the clock and think it is time, I need to go over there but then reality sinks in and I know that isn't so. Our little Abbie almost refuses to go in his house. She knows he isn't there somehow. She goes in and then runs right back out! She always ran to dad and if he wasn't in his chair, she would run thru the house looking for him, but since the first night she has not done that. It is like he spoke to her somehow and told her he wasn't coming back.
We are looking forward to heading north later in the year and getting acquainted with our new great granddaughter. We have another one that we haven't seen yet too so will get to spend time with them this summer.
We have started doing research and looking for a small rv to make travel easier. Who knows what this year will bring. It is a time of new beginnings for us after a really bad year last year. We are certainly glad 2011 has come to an end and looking forward to a better 2012!
