Well, another week closer to being done with radiation for DH. It is taking a toll and I can tell as each week progresses, he is more tired. By the time we get to Friday, he can hardly wait to get home and get to his recliner to nap. I am happy we just have 3 more full weeks and 2 days and it will be finished. Then it will be an anxious wait to see if his PSA is back down and if it is, then we can count all of this as worth it all.
I have been making progress on things with dad's affairs. His mobile home has been sold and the electric has been changed over to the new owner - I got the final bit of that taken care of today. I try to work on something every day and have a folder of things that are totally resolved that is growing thicker. As I type here, it just reminds me I have never gotten the promised label to send back his DSL equipment so I will have to call those folks again. This will make the 3rd time!! If things were resolved with a single phone call, it would be so much easier but that usually is not the case. I am still waiting on the paperwork for his life insurance but hopefully will have that sometime in February. Because he was over 100 and the policy had matured they are being a real pain in the tush. I had talked to the insurance company several times before he turned 100 and they told me it was no problem to let the policy alone and now this! Also, we have finally gotten the bank to agree to distribute the money in his CD's without the big hassle they were trying to put us thru. They wanted each of the beneficiaries to come into a branch to redeem the CD and some of us don't live close to this bank so that was a problem. Once my brother also got involved they finally decided they could do something else! Next up will be getting his taxes done-I am dreading that one.
I went this morning to get some of our paperwork done. We set up a trust this summer but that triggered a problem with our homestead exemption here and we had to refile in the trust's name and when we went to reapply they decided they needed to see the trust so this morning I took that to the office and now that is off my to do list and we are back on the roles to get our tax break.
I FINALLY got my hair cut after that as I was in the vicinity. I had planned on doing that before Christmas but as you know my life got really complicated so had been putting it off. I also got it colored but could not get my hi-lites as they were out of my color so will have to return next week when they get it in. At least the hairdresser gave me a coupon so will get it done for $18! I had coupons for my cut and color so feel I got a bargain and it feels so much better.
Our friends, Betty & Boyd drove us to DH's radiation today and then we all went to Sweet Tomato for a late lunch of soup and salad. He will have surgery mid Feb-has to have his bladder, prostrate and lymph nodes removed as he has bladder cancer. We will likely keep their furbaby while he is hospitalized as they are always willing to keep our Abbie for us.
I am sleeping better and getting up to go to the gym early and hopefully next week my gym buddy will be better (hurt knee) and return to the gym with me.
I hope all of you have a great weekend and thanks for all the encouragement.
