Karen was admitted to the hospital yesterday and her doctor is working hard on getting her what she needs. He has done some basic tests and not sure exactly what this test was but something that should have come out at 50 or less was 1400 so I am thinking it is her white cell count but not sure. She is being medicated with morphine and that seems to be giving her some much needed relief from the pain. She has been suffering something terrible for the past week or so so was happy to hear that. We wanted to go see her, but her son says she is in and out so for now going to keep getting updates from family and let her get the much needed rest. The doctor told her husband to not worry about the insurance, he should concentrate on Karen and he will deal with them! Way to go Doc!
We understand they plan to take her to Orlando and do a special scope to see if the cancer is attached to her aorta, if so, it is going to mean it is inoperable. The dr doesn't think this is the case and at present is very optimistic. Once they know for certain it isn't, then they plan to get her admitted to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa for surgery.
Thank you everyone for your prayers. I truly believe with prayer Karen will get thru this.
