Saying Goodbye
Saturday, February 25, 2012
We all know that our time on earth is limited but saying goodbye to a dear friend is so hard to do. I think most of us here in our community are still in shock as to how quickly this has happened but it is a blessing in a way as Karen has been in so much pain pretty much for the past month. I haven't seen her since last Saturday when she felt good enough to sit out in her Florida room and today the hospice doctor told the family he would be surprised it she made it until tomorrow. Her last two sons arrived today and the family is thinking she was hanging on to try to say goodbye to them but most of the time she has been totally out of it.
Our annual tea party was held today and during it, there was a slideshow of prior parties and there were several pictures of Karen during the show. This was right after we had held a special silent prayer for her and the family. I don't think there was a dry eye in the rec hall.
I know many of you have been following my blogs about Karen and now it is time to say a prayer that she finds peace and her family will be able to go on without her.
Everyone remember to tell those you love them every time you see them, we just never know when it might be the last chance we get to tell them that we care.
