Plant City

This is strawberry season in Florida and Plant City is the hub. The annual Strawberry Festival has just finished up so today we planned a trip down to the world famous Parkdale. Our friends picked us up about 10:30 and we were off-it is about a 90 min drive but worth it! They serve the best strawberry shortcake I have ever had. They have folks line up and we have been there when there is more than 150 people in line but today we hit it just right-4 people ahead of us! They have an assembly line and move the people thru. Then you walk thru the sales area for all the fruit and veggies they sell along with all jellies, and anything strawberry and they sell some of the nicest plants of all kinds.
They have picnic tables all thru the plant area and you can relax and eat your shortcake. I came home with lots of veggies to make up for the indulgence of the strawberry shortcake for my lunch.
We hadn't been down there in several years so guess it is ok to indulge as long as I don't do it too often.
