4/12 Daddy's Care Meeting

This morning, Wally, MaryAnn and I attended a care meeting for daddy. He is doing pretty good, going to physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The head nurse says daddy's bedsores are improving but it just takes time. He is now in a gerry chair instead of a wheel chair as they have to keep his feet elevated due to poor circulation. He is now taking a medication to improve his appetite and it is working as he has now gained 3 lbs. Daddy has gone from 136 to 116 lbs--now up to 119-- and right now cannot afford to lose anymore weight. I sure wish I had that problem. lol

She also stated that daddy would not walk again--just be pushed around. That means we will not be able to take him for a ride or anything else. His legs are so stiff that we cannot maneuver him into any of our cars. That bothers me as we hoped to take him out to the farm for a get-together with family and friends. I reckon that is out unless some of the therapy/exercise will limber him up.

All in all the meeting was positive as daddy's vitals are still strong. He is talking some so that is good. MaryAnn and Wally will have to take over next week as I will be dealing with Ashley and his surgery.
