Wow, it was so nice to get away for a few days and the best part was I didn't have to do the driving! My DH has limited vision and hasn't driven in nearly 10 years as the result of cataract surgery that caused him to lose his vision in the eye that he had operated on and he has a bad cataract on the other eye so the dr won't operate on it until he totally loses his sight.
We were up early Wed morning and our friend, Boyd, was here to drive our car back home so it didn't have to sit in the shopping center parking lot while we were gone. What a good friend to get up early to do this for us.

This is our friends who went on the trip with us. Vicky & Sonny and Roger & Ruthie
We had two stops on the way down to Miami where we arrived about 2:30 in the afternoon and immediatly got on a tour boat to see Miami Bay and all the beautiful homes there.

This is the boat we took our tour on.
Looking back at Miami from our in the bay.
These are the condos on Fisher Island where lots of celebrities have condos. According to the tour some big names are Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey, to name a couple. We were told just the maint fee is $15,000 a month. There is no bridge to the island-you have to reach it by ferry, boat or helicopter.
Guess I won't be looking for a place there anytime soon-ha ha!
This beautiful yacht belongs to the owner of the Miami Heat.

The gang at dinner-we splurged and went to a Brazilian Steakhouse-had lots of different items-the intestines they had on the grill were almost too much for my stomach!
Vicky & Ruthie enjoying the wine that was complimentary with dinner-they each got a bottle! I settled for a diet coke!
Proof we made it to Key West! We spent the day there riding around on the City Trolley and seeing the sights.
Ready to take off on the airboat on Fri morning into the Everglades
This gator was pretty close to us-they said that some of them are so used to the boats they don't even move when they approach. Before it became a crime, they used to feed them and they still are looking for a handout!
DH and his 2 new best friends!!!
And so the sun sets on our trip to Key West.
