DH's UPDATE

Friday, May 18, 2012

Today Ashley had to go for another post-op check-up. Wonderful news--he can start going some without the back brace and can drive!! That is the best news in the world to me as he does not like my driving and if it continued much longer, we just might have a lulu of a fight. lol Supposedly I scare him and he gets on my nerves--not a good combination. Dr. Gee was very pleased with how things are going and the x-ray pictures show that all is well. Ashley should be without the brace by the end of 4 weeks. He is so excited to be able to walk in the house without it but will wear it when walking in the yard or at the farm. He still won't be riding the lawn mower or tractor until after his next appointment.
That is ok with me.

I am going to TOPS convention the end of this month and was worried about leaving him a-foot for 3 days but now that he will be able to drive, no worry on that front. He will be able to go to the farm or get a newspaper without having to get a driver. It will help my feelings too as I won't feel so guilty about leaving him to go to exercise class, meet with girl friends, TOPS meetings, etc. He can start doing his things now too.

Things are going pretty good for me. I am behind in my thank-yous but will get to them. Right now I just can't deal with them. I do want to thank everyone for the wonderful notes (I have read them). (((HUGS))) big time to all.

I'm so glad your DH is doing better. I didn't know you were a member of TOPS. I used to be, then stopped because it was too far to drive in the winter and gas got too expensive.

emoticon news about your DH, Linda.
So glad that he can drive now and do
his own things. Great also, that you
can go about doing your fun things,
    without worrying about leaving him
home alone. You've had a tough time
lately. Still remembering you, & DH
    in my prayers. emoticon

    That's great news!

Oh, I know about husbands and driving. My DH says the same thing about my driving, but it hasn't occurred to him that his driving sometimes drives me crazy. Actually I think it is a control thing. When you're "riding shotgun" the world looks very different and you're never sure that your driver sees the same dangers that you see.

This is the BEST news! It has been a hard few months on you but it sounds like you are not only on an upward swing but even BETTER for the wear! God and have a wonderful time and enjoy yourself more than you have ever done before...you DESERVE it. And Ashley deserves some alone time now...I am sure he is looking forward to that too!

I had to lol about the driving...I know just what you mean...when we are too close to AYWONE too much we all start letting the little things that normally don't bother us do just that...bother us. LOL

Have a WONDERFUL, restful and Blessed summer...as I said, you certainly deserve it! emoticon emoticon emoticon
