Murphy is Visiting me way too often

Thursday, June 21, 2012

I am sure all of you often feel like if something bad is going to happen it will happen to you or cause a glitch in your life. That is how I am feeling right now. I guess I am holding my very own pity party at the moment and I need to shake it off because I don't like it, I am usually upbeat and figure we can get thru pretty much anything but the past week or so, it seems like the walls are closing in!
DH's BP has been rising and last week his primary gave us samples of a medicine to use when it is too high. Well, we used it on Monday and it really made it drop like a shot and then he got dizzy so I decided I best get online and check this out. One depends on the dr to know what will work with the other meds he is on but from what I read, this is not a good fit. His cardiologist's nurse was concerned when we went in Tues for a blood pressure check and it was perfect (112//76) but she talked to the dr about the new medicine and he wants DH to either see or talk to his nephrologist because he is afraid it will affect his kidneys. I tried to get in touch but he is out of town until Mon so hoping we can get this resolved as we leave on our trip on Fri (please don't make us cancel!).
Yesterday we took the plunge and got an I-phone and I spent the afternoon trying to figure it out and got very frustrated. I think that anymore these things are complicated enough that they should offer a class to help folks get them set up! I finally managed to get my e-mail and Facebook set up but it was a real challenge. Since they don't give you a manual, you have to read it on the internet and then go and try to do whatever you just read! I would have printed out the manual, but 177 pages is entirely too much to print!!!! My brother has an I-phone so he offered some tips and sent me a tutorial his phone company had sent to him online when he got his phone about 18 mo ago. I didn't see this one online and it was better than the one I was using so it explained a lot to me and I have gotten a bit more confident about using the phone. When we get up north, I will get the grandkids to help me with the finer points! One offered to come down and help me if I would fly her down-ha ha-not with us leaving soon.
Today we decided we needed to run the generator again to make sure it is still working ok since we have had the problems with it. Oh no, it ran about 5 minutes and quit! I started it again and this time it only ran about 3 min and final try it didn't even make it 2 min. That was not something we wanted at this late date. We are going to try to get it in tomorrow and see what they can do with it. We have to have it back no later than Wed so I can finish packing it. I have it 85 percent done so I can finish up in a day. Now have our fingers crossed it is not anything major since we don't have time for that and it would mean we go north without the generator! Did not need this but guess we just have to deal!!!!!!!!
Tomorros is already a busy day-Abbie is going to the groomer-she is getting her first major haircut. I only let the groomer shape her up and keep her hair from dragging the ground but this time since we will be camping I figure it is time for a major cut so she is going to get a long puppy cut. I hope it isn't too big a shock to her as she has never had short hair since a puppy. Some have told me she might be self conscious about it-hope not.
So much to do in the week before our big trip-just hoping Murphy will go visit somewhere else and let us get it all taken care of.

Tell Murphy to take a long hike and keep going. What
a string of things to go wrong when you want to sit
back and enjoy life. I hope you get some answers
for DH's medication because this sounds scary.
Try not to worry but I know you will.
And technology makes life easy if you can
understand it. Love all those gadgets that come
without a manual. I am sure the GC can help you
    sort it out.
Try to have a good weekend and get that generator
fixed so you will have one less thing to worry about.

Pat, I am praying for you and all these things you have mentioned. I do hope your DH's doctors get their act together quickly and help him. I'm also praying for YOU - as you are obviously the glue that is holding things together. Don't neglect taking care of yourself through all this.

I will ask for Murphy's mercy on you. You don't need any more hassle. Sorry things are so hard and in all different directions. I hate that feeling. I really hope his BP gets leveled out before the trip. Many prayers and hugs to you, Pat.
