Update on things

Sunday, September 23, 2012

Things have been a bit crazy since we returned home. We have gotten the rv repaired, been to several doctor appointments, fought off bronchitis, pulled soooo many weeds, tried to get caught up on things around home and taken time to just relax and enjoy life.
I found out at my doctor visit that I need to take losing weight even more seriously and have been waiting on my local library to get the books for the diet that the dr recommended. I wanted to read about it and find out if it is something I can live with before I buy it. Hopefully I will be able to pick it up tomorrow-it is either the book on the diet or the coresponding cookbook as I asked that a hold be put on both and one of them is in!
While we were gone, our church has gotten a new minister and when we went back, we just didn't feel like we belonged there anymore so the past couple of weeks we have been going to different churches to find one we feel is a fit. It is sad when one feels they must leave their church home but we are not the only ones who have felt this way - we noticed attendance is down and some other friends have also changed church homes so it is not just us. We attended a new church that was in the process of converting a car dealership into a sanctuary when we left in June and we will go a few more times to see if it feels right. We also have friends who want us to go with them to their church when they return from up north so will also give it a try.
Life is good and I chooose to make the most of every day-it is a gift from God and I need to honor him in all I do.

Pat, I'll be praying that you find the church home that God wants for you. I know it's hard when things don't 'fit' but one size does not fit all. There IS a church out there where you'll fit right in and be able to worship and learn unencumbered by not feeling 'right.'

Good luck with the losing weight. Let us know what you find out with the books - I hope the second one comes in in soon.

    Hi Pat,
Thanks for filling us in:) Yes, you have to want to be in your church or the disincentives to go get bigger and bigger. Good luck with your hunt.

Good luck, too, with finding the right eating program for you. As you said, it has to be something you're comfortable with doing long-term.

    Hang in there!

It's too bad you don't feel like you belong at your church. It sounds like someone made a mistake when they chose the new minister. Good luck finding anew church and with the new diet.

Home is where the heart is and you need to find the perfect match. I know that you will.
Can't wait to hear if you got the book!

Good luck in finding your new church. It is important. I hope you like the new diet your doctor put you on. Good luck with that too. Have a great week and God bless you.

Finding the right church home is a must. Why go if it
doesn't feel right? Then you decide not to go because
it doesn't feel right. Keep looking and pray for God to
    guide you. HUGS!
