Bittersweet Day

Saturday, February 16, 2013

Just a year ago we purchased our little RV and had great plans to do more traveling in it and today we sold it. We got to do several short trips but it seemed every trip was marred by either health issues or a problem with the RV. After all of the health issues experienced by DH we made the decision that it was time to hang up our wanderlust ways and be content to take shorter trips by car and stay in motels.
We are happy we were able to travel back north last summer and use it as our base. It was nice to have our very own bed every night and going forward we won't have that advantage but one has to give up things and just move on.
Nothing lasts forever and we were blessed to travel in our big RV for 6 years and now in this one for the past year-many folks never get to do this at all.
Now it is on to the next phase of our life-we are waiting to find out what that will be!!

A change in plans sometimes takes time to adjust too. Count your blessings and continue to have adventures wherever they may occur! emoticon

easy for your hubby and a good wife is a Godsend.

I'm sure it's hard to give up something you enjoyed s much. You can still travel and enjoy yourself and noe you won't have to worry about the RV breaking down.

Have you ever heard the saying...
Sometimes a guy has gotta do, what a guy has gotta do!
You came to this realization that is bittersweet.
Even though the RV trips in the last year, sadly were not good due to DH's health,
But it sounds like you had 6 fantastic years of traveling and enjoyment in the big RV.
You WILL have those thoughts to travel and live through your mind forever!
What a wonderful time the two of you must have shared, not only in your freedom to get away but to enjoy the beauty of God's creation along the highways and byways.
It sounds like little ole RV couldn't keep up with his Big Brother! lol
Am so happy for you that it did finally sell and that is one less stressor in your life.
I too am celebrating with You and Bill!
May this new phase in your life bring you all your wish it to be!
God Bless the two of you with good health and happiness.

Pat, you know you two did manage to roam on a massive scale compared to just about everybody else. (In the world!)Really, you can't have many regrets with the amount of adventure already under your belts -- many, many people out there can only dream of the trips and experiences you two have had. Truth? I'M envious:)

On the one hand, I'm glad you got the RV sold, and on the other, it really doesn't have to cramp your style. Yes, it was nice to sleep in your own bed every night, but I am sure you two will be responding to your wanderlust before too long -- and you'll have fun then too. It's all about adapting to your current reality. I know I'll be reading about your next trip -- I'm already looking forward to it:) Keep on roaming.

Sorry had to sell your Rv. As we get older we have to move on to another stage of life. You will still make memories

I hope you sold it for enough money to give yourself a
little cushion of savings. I am sure we will sell ours
someday but for now, I'll dream of camping at the State
Fair. It should warm up by August!

Just think - now the buyers can have their adventures on a bigger scale. Your adventures may be scaled back, but they can still be of great quality. I hope the health issues resolve so that you can have fun!
