Fort Meyers Trip
Tuesday, October 15, 2013
This is the bridge we crossed to get to our hotel in Fort Meyers Beach.
A view of the beach from our balcony-most of the time we were there it was overcast or raining-one day they got 2 inches and the next 4!
View of the beach
Some coconuts as seen from the balcony in our friends room.
Vicky on the breach-looking for the dolphin we had sighted on our walk.
This is the best picture of the dolphin-eventually 2 more joined it but they were further out and I could not get a good picture of them.
Some folks grounded their boat and we had quite a time watching the recovery team getting it out of the water-took several hours!!
Big banyon tree in front of Edisons workshop
Floss silk tree-Edison experimented with all kinds of exotic trees
Sausage tree
Beautiful garden between the Edison & Ford homes and it looks a lot like it did in the pictures taken when they lived there.
Bill & Sonny relaxing while Vicky & I check things out at the Ford Home
Dinner on the gulf-the only beautiful sunset we had happened while we were eating so didn't get any pics of a sunset-boo hoo!
We managed to catch about an hour of sunshine at the pool on one day-we actually got rained on while we were there!
The rainbow Vicky & I saw on our final morning as we took one last walk on the beach.
We spent 4 days and 3 nights down in Ft. Meyers. This was a late birthday gift from my DH. Originally he had planned it as a surprise for my 65th birthday but my younger son gave us an even bigger surprise-he showed up for my birthday! So we had to postpone our trip but that was probably good as it had cooled down a bit from August.
Hope you enjoyed the brief tour-rain didn't help me get a lot of good pictures.
