Break the cycle

Sunday, April 20, 2014

I miss writing blogs and getting comments to help from my beloved spark friends. Hi everyone. emoticon I miss you all emoticon emoticon emoticon
Happy Easter everyone emoticon

I don't know how I came into this unhealthy cycle. I was struggling with drinking water, stopped my daily workout, stopped tracking my calorie intake, made unhealthy food choices and finally started to eat mindless. This was the recipe to fail and go into the unhealthy and weight gain cycle.

I gained 4 kg. emoticon I know that I don't have to be sad. It's a kind of struggling that I know and faced many times before but never was a winner. I was a loser and end up with a yo-yo dieting. I succeeded during this healthy life style experience to start which I consider the hardest part, Hit plateau that I don't lose weight as I expect but now I'm facing a higher level challenge which is giving up!

Sure I don't want to give up. I want to break the cycle. The actions I'll take to break the cycle are:
1- Track my calorie intake. emoticon
2- Drink 6 cups of water. emoticon
3- Do 15 minutes of cardio workout. emoticon
4- Do 10 minutes of strength workout. emoticon
5- Will focus once again on my weight loss actions and give it a higher priority once more.

I'm not a loser till now and can be a winner emoticon

You have taken the most important step! You wrote a blog AND included what your plan is! Good for you! We all mess up from time to time but the important thing is to get back on track. Start streakin'! It has always helped me.

It has taken me three years to finally say I have broken the cycle. I still am afraid to say it out loud. I have maintained for two years but I have bounced around with 5-14 lbs of my 50 lost but that is better than I have ever done. So yes the cycle is broken. Keep working it and it will come, but we have to do the work....physically and mentally.

Don't give up! Holiday times are especially hard so don't expect too much. The fact that you are even posting about it instead of hiding is a step forward in itself. Just focus on tomorrow's plan, try and forget yesterday and don't think too much into the future.

We all mess up, it is part of the addiction. It is the hardest to break because we have to eat. If you start to look at things a little differently. First, you don't loose weight, you get rid of it. You go on a program, not a diet. And just do one day at a time. When it comes off slowly, it stays off. Good luck emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I would not consider you a loser at all, unless we are discussing weight loss.

You got in your own way. You recognized this. Then you stepped out of your own way. And now you are continuing on your journey.

    Winner, winner, winner!

You will get there my dear. It's simply one foot in front of the other.

You know what it is you need to do. You simply need to choose to do it, every single day, whether you feel like it or not.

I have faith that you will succeed!

PS - I have good and not so good days. I simply choose not to let them get me down because what I want is on the other side of fear (or whatever else I choose to let get in my way). So I try to recognize as quick as possible what my obstacle is and move around it.

Great goals and things to focus on, so wake up each day and internalize them again. You can do it. We each make our decisions every day, and it isn't always easy. Have a wonderful day, and a wonderful Easter.
